The Royalty of Jesus Christ

Mat 2:2 saying, “Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we have seen His star in the East and have come to worship Him.”
Mat 2:3 When Herod the king heard this, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him.
Mat 2:4 And when he had gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people together, he inquired of them where the Christ was to be born.

Mat 2:5 So they said to him, “In Bethlehem of Judea, for thus it is written by the prophet:
Mat 2:6 And you Bethlehem, in the land of Judea, are not the least among the princes of Judah: for out of you shall come a Governor, that shall rule my people Israel.
Mat 2:7 Then Herod, when he had secretly called the wise men, determined from them what time the star appeared.

Mat 2:8 And he sent them to Bethlehem and said, “Go and search carefully for the young Child, and when you have found Him, bring back word to me, that I may come and worship Him also.”
Mat 2:9 When they heard the king, they departed; and behold, the star which they had seen in the East went before them, till it came and stood over where the young Child was.
Mat 2:10 When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceedingly great joy.

Mat 2:11 And when they had come into the house, they saw the young Child with Mary His mother, and fell down and worshiped Him. And when they had opened their treasures, they presented gifts to Him: gold, frankincense, and myrrh.

The story of Jesus Christ birth is filled with the revelation of his royalty that we can all learn from. The Bible says that the wise men searched diligently for Christ, knowing that the scripture prophesied of his birth. This is so profound because the Bible implores us to seek the Lord, while he may be found.

Isa 55:6 Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:
Isa 55:7 Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.

The wise men followed the star which led them to where Christ was. The star shined a bright light over him! Remember Jesus said in Joh 8:12, ” Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness but have the light of life.”

We also find five wonderful things that happened at the birth of Jesus Christ that the wise men did. Wisdom implores us to do the same thing.

1. When they found him, they rejoiced with exceedingly great joy! This speaks of praise and excitement! Mat 2:10 says, “When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceedingly great joy.” Point number 1. No matter who you are, or what your title is, there is only one star, who is Jesus Christ, whom we should exalt and praise at all times!

2. They fell down and worshipped him. True worship is what God desires, and
sometimes we give the LORD halfhearted worship. Joh 4:24 says, “God is Spirit, and those
who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”

The Bible also says:
1Ch 16:29 Give to the LORD the glory due His name; Bring an offering, and come before
Him. Oh, worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness!

When someone is of royalty, protocol states that you bring a gift. You don’t come before royalty empty handed! You always bring a gift to show honor! They worshipped him and gave him three things!

3. They gave him Gold. Gold is the most precious metal one can buy. It is a symbol of wealth on earth and represents his divine nature.

4. They gave him frankincense which is a fragrant incense. Frankincense was very expensive in those days. It speaks of the fragrance of His life and ministry. Frankincense is also a symbol of priestship. It symbolizes prayer and Christ’s role as our intercessor. 1 Tim 2:5 says, “For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus.”

It was also one of the ingredients of the incense used in the Tabernacle and when burned, it emanated a beautiful smell! Incense is symbolic of prayers that ascend into heaven as well.

Rev 5:8 Now when He had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each having a harp, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints.

5. They gave him Myrrh. Myrrh in the days of Christ was an expensive spice. It speaks of His suffering and death. Myrrh in the days of Christ was an expensive embalming oil or medicine.

Myrrh was also one of the ingredients used in the anointing oil given to Moses by the Lord. It had two uses, as an anointing oil and embalming oil for death.

In the Bible, Christ was offered wine mixed with myrrh as an analgesic during his crucifixion, and his body was anointed with myrrh after his death. When Christ was on the cross, the bible records in Mar 15:23, Then they gave Him wine mingled with myrrh to drink, but He did not take it.

When he died, one of the religious leaders did the following:
John 19:39 And Nicodemus, who at first came to Jesus by night, also came, bringing a
mixture of myrrh and aloes, about a hundred pounds.

These three gifts can be described as gold symbolizing divinity, frankincense symbolizing the aroma of his life, prayer, intercession, and myrrh, symbolizing death and suffering.

All of these point to Jesus Christ! And guess what? We can learn from their actions by doing the same! How? Do you say? Well, we should rejoice and praise the LORD at all times! We must worship him in spirit and in truth, and we should give him our best!

The wise men gave him gold, frankincense and myrrh. We give our time, talents and treasure. Why? Because he owns it all, and we only give back to him, what belongs to him. We don’t give to a man, we give back to the LORD, because he created us, and he owns all things!

Remember the earth is the LORD’S and the fullness thereof. This is why we give him our best in all that we do, because God gave his best, and the wise man gave their best! Let us do likewise!

So, during this season, today, tomorrow and forevermore, it is only proper that we give glory, honor and praise to Yeshua Ha Mashiach (Jesus Christ) who is KING of Kings and LORD of Lord’s!

Abiding in Jesus Christ

Psa 91:1  He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
Psa 91:2  I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.”

Joh 1:14  And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

One of my most beloved Psalms is Psalm 91. It has been ascribed as written by King David, but many theologians say that Moses was the author, and it was included in the Psalms later by David.

Regardless of the author, it is a beautiful Psalm, and we know that both Moses and David are revered in the Old Testament, and were mighty men of God who loved the LORD!

One of the reasons it could be ascribed to Moses is that Psalm 90 and Psalm 91 start off by telling the reader the importance of dwelling in the LORD. Let’s read!

Psa 90:1 A Prayer of Moses the Man of God. LORD, you have been our dwelling place in all generations.
Psa 90:2 Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever You had formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, you are God.

Psalm 91: 1-2 says:

Psa 91:1 He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
Psa 91:2 I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.”

Both Psalms speak of a dwelling place in God, but Psalm 91 goes a little deeper and says:

Psa 91:1 He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

So, the Psalmist speaks of dwelling in the secret place of the Most High God, and abiding under the shadow of the Almighty. The Psalmist is referring to two powerful names of God which are El Elyon (Most High God) and El Shaddai (God Almighty).

The Hebrew word for dwell is “yashab” and the Hebrew word for abide is “loon” and they both have the same meaning, kind of! Dwell means to inhabit, take up shelter or settle in a place of residence or a place of habitation.

This is where we get the word dwelling! Abide is almost the same, except it means to continue, to lodge, remain or to stay permanently!

Question? Is the LORD your dwelling place and are you abiding in Jesus Christ?

In 2 Chronicles 6:18, Solomon asked the question; “But will God indeed dwell with men on the earth? behold, heaven and the heaven of heavens cannot contain you; how much less this house which I have built!”

Moses built the Tabernacle and Solomon built a Temple, where God’s presence would dwell among the people.

The house of God, or the place where we gather should never be minimized, because dwelling places for God and his people are important in scripture! David said in the Psalms:

Psa 23:6 -Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the LORD Forever.

Psa 27:4 – One thing I have desired of the LORD, that will I seek: That I may dwell in the house of the LORD All the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to inquire in His temple.

Although the house of God should never be minimized, God desires to dwell among us, and with us personally!

John 1: 14 tells us, “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

“Isaiah 9:6, says; “For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given; and the government will be upon His shoulder, and His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Matt 1:23 confirms it! “Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.”

Isn’t that wonderful that God dwells with us, among us, and in us.  Isn’t it amazing that God himself wanted to dwell among his creation and came to earth to save us from our sins.

Jesus came to earth and experienced what we experience, what we go through, and what we feel. He came to show us the way more excellently.  He left the glory of heaven to dwell with his creation!

John 3: 16 says “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believes on him will not perish but have everlasting life!”

As I look at all the other religions, they worship a god who they think is among them, but we worship a God who is with us! The difference between true worship and false worship can be summed up in two words: Relationship or Religion.

Relationship is what we all need with the LORD. God reached down to man through his Son Jesus Christ with grace, love and truth, reconnecting our hearts to the Father through relationship in Jesus Christ.

Religion is man attempting to find God or trying to appease God through made up doctrines, rituals, and religious observances. The late Myles Munroe stated that Jesus didn’t come to start a religion, but came to establish rulership through relationship.

The birth of Jesus Christ brought God to man. But the cross of Christ, brings man to God! Many of us will give or receive gifts next week, but the greatest gift that was given to mankind was Jesus Christ, the Messiah, the Son of the Living God!

It is a gift that was paid in full, it is the gift that leaves no debt unpaid! it is the gift that keeps on giving, it is the gift you won’t have to get a rain check for, and above all, it is the gift that will never break, wear out or depreciate!

The gift of salvation has been given. Receive the gift today! For He is the most precious gift ever given to mankind!

As you celebrate Christmas and the Holidays, remember what Jesus said in John 15:4-7:

Joh 15:4 Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.
Joh 15:5 “I am the vine; you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.
Joh 15:6 If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned.
Joh 15:7 If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.

Today, during this Christmas season, and next year. Let’s dwell on the things that are important to God, which is abiding in Jesus Christ! In the midst of giving and receiving gifts, receive and celebrate the greatest gift ever given to man, Jesus the Christ!

The Beauty of Humility

Php 2:5  Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
Php 2:6  Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
Php 2:7  But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:
Php 2:8  And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
Php 2:9  Wherefore God also has highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:
Php 2:10  That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;
Php 2:11  And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

One of the most beautiful attributes that one can possess is humility! There is an absolute beauty in humility! When we look at the life of Jesus Christ, we find the ultimate example of exaltation through humility. The Apostle Paul tells us that we should have that same mindset in Phil 2:5. When we look at the example of Christ, we find a wonderful example!

The Bible says in Phil 2:6, that although Christ was in the form of God, he thought it not robbery to to be equal with God. In other words, although he was the Son of God, and although he was with God. He did not take it lightly. He knew who he was, but yet, he submitted himself to the Father’s will. The Bible says he made himself of no reputation in Phil 2:7.

This is something that many people have not yet learned. We live in a society and time, where everybody wants to be at the top. I mean there is nothing wrong with being at the top of your game, in whatever you do, but understand that humility is the highest form of exaltation.

Although the LORD was in the form of God, which means the shape, appearance and likeness. He took on the form of a servant, made in the likeness of men. (Phil 2:7). Don’t miss this! He took on the form of a servant, although he was part of the Godhead! (Father, Son and Holy Spirit)

We can learn something from this, because although we have positions of authority, titles, degrees, and the accolades of men, we should maintain a spirit of humility.

The Bible says that although he was in the form of God, he came into the earth realm as a man, and humbled himself. This speaks volumes, because there are not to many people who are willing to come down to a low place, to follow the path of humility like Christ.

Jesus told the disciples something so profound in Matt chapter 23.

Mat 23:11  But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant.  Mat 23:12  And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted.

Notice, the same thing he told his disciples, is the same path that he followed himself. He took the form of a servant, and humbled himself in Phil 2:8.

The Bible also says that he became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. (Phil 2:8)

Paul tells us in Rom 5:19 –  For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.

Isn’t that amazing! by Adam’s disobedience, many were made sinners. By Christ’s obedience, many were made righteous. Can you imagine what obedience will do in your life, and in the life of others?

Christ’s death, or sacrifice was the the ultimate sacrifice for humanity. Today, I don’t think we really know the power and value of sacrifice. What do I mean by sacrifice? I mean the willingness to give up something, or to release something of value, for the benefit of someone else.

What I mean is the dying of yourself, the emptying of yourself through humility, following the example of Christ. Of course, the ultimate sacrifice was Christ’s death at the cross!

A good question to ask is? What is it in your life that needs to die? Could it be self righteousness, an attitude, pride, anger or unforgiveness. Believe me, we all have something in our lives, that we could surely give up, that will help us to be a better example for Christ.

Now, when we put all the words together that describe Christ, they are: No reputation, servitude, humility, obedience, and sacrifice. Now understand, it wasn’t that he didn’t have a reputation, or that he wasn’t a servant, or had pride, and was disobedient. The revelation is that he left his heavenly abode and did all these things for you and me! He gave us the perfect example.

As a result God exalted him to the highest place!

Php 2:9  Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:
Php 2:10  That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;
Php 2:11  And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

People of God, humility is an exalter. Pride and self will bring you low. Let us follow the example of the Apostle Paul, who said, let his mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus! In doing so, God will promote and bless your life, high and above measure!

Faith and focus for the journey

Num 13:32-33 KJV 32 And they brought up an evil report of the land which they had searched unto the children of Israel, saying, The land, through which we have gone to search it, is a land that eateth up the inhabitants thereof; and all the people that we saw in it are men of a great stature. 33 And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight.

In the times that we live, faith and focus are two things we need for the journey ahead.

Why do we need faith? Because faith will sustain you like nothing else, and will give you the hope to overcome anything in your life you are going through.

Why do we need focus? Because without the proper focus, you cannot see clearly what is before you, and neither can you
achieve the things that are in your heart.

Why? Because a lack of focus means you have taken your eyes off of what is before you, due to distraction or deception.

Understand that in difficult times, having a strong faith and focus in the Word of God will keep you focused for the journey ahead.

When you are driving on a road trip or journey, it’s important to stay focused right? Which means we must be alert and watchful, knowing that there may be obstacles or situations that could hinder you on the journey.

Remember, in the journey of faith, you are going to be tested, and if you are not focused, you may find yourself doing something that is not Kingdom related, or out of the will of God!

Remember the story of the 12 Israelite spies in the Bible, that went to spy out the land in Numbers Chapter 13?

In Numbers Chapter 13, the LORD tells Moses to send twelve men, who were leaders to spy out the land he was giving to him.

Num 13:1-3 AKJV 1 And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, 2 Send you men, that they may search the land of Canaan, which I give to the children of Israel: of every tribe of their fathers shall you send a man, every one a ruler among them. 3 And Moses by the commandment of the LORD sent them from the wilderness of Paran: all those men were heads of the children of Israel.

So the LORD gave them a Word to take possession of the land, and the only thing they had to do was obey God, spy out the land, and take possession of it.

The interesting thing is when they spied it out, they saw that the land was awesome, but there was just one problem. There were giants in the land.

In other words, there were obstacles or things they saw, which caused them to have a lack of faith and focus. Why, because they didn’t believe the Word of the LORD spoken to Moses, and they saw the themselves as grasshoppers.

Num 13:32-33 AKJV 32 And they brought up an evil report of the land which they had searched to the children of Israel, saying, The land, through which we have gone to search it, is a land that eats up the inhabitants thereof; and all the people that we saw in it are men of a great stature. 33 And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight.

Do you see why faith and focus are important? Because God has given us his Word to sustain us in difficult times, and the journey ahead. Yet, many times, because of a lack of faith and focus, we miss the blessing that God has for us because of fear, doubt and unbelief!

As a result of their fear, doubt and unbelief, out of 12 men, only 2 entered into the Promised Land, which was Joshua and Caleb.

Num 14:30 AKJV Doubtless you shall not come into the land, concerning which I swore to make you dwell therein, save Caleb the son of Jephunneh, and Joshua the son of Nun.

These two men had a faith and a focus in God! They saw what Moses saw, and believed the Word of the LORD.

When you have a strong faith and focus in God, nothing is impossible for you. Why? Because with God, nothing is impossible.

Mar 9:23 AKJV Jesus said to him, If you can believe, all things are possible to him that believes.

But when you have a lack of faith and focus in God, you hinder the blessing that God has for your life!

Heb 11:6 AKJV But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that comes to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Question, what doors and opportunities in your life have been hindered because of a lack of faith and focus?

I encourage you to stay strong in faith, and focused for the journey ahead regardless of what happens in the earth, or in your life.

Brothers and Sisters, always trust God, keep the faith, and stay focused, no matter what it looks like, seems like or appears to be. Because with God, nothing is impossible!

Time To Refocus

Mat 24:4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, take heed that no man deceive you.

Remember when the Disciples asked Jesus, “What will be the sign of your coming, and the end of the age?” Matt 24:3

Before Jesus said, wars, rumors of wars, pestilence and earthquakes..he said watch the deception. Matt 24:7

People, the world, religion, and many other things can deceive us. This is why we need to refocus with the eyesight of the Lord, so we can see and discern clearly.

Remember he told the church of Laodicea, you see yourself one way, but I see you another way. It’s amazing that we can see ourselves as all that, and God sees differently.

Isa 55:8-9 KJ2000 8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, says the LORD. 9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

Listen to what he told the Laodicea church in Revelation chapter 3.

Rev 3:17-18 KJ2000 17 Because you say, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and know not that you are wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked: 18 I counsel you to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that you may be rich; and white clothing, that you may be clothed, and that the shame of your nakedness does not appear; and anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see.

That church was deceived! Saints, this is what is happening all over the world today. I heard the Lord say, How is your focus, and do you see what I see?

Sometimes we have to refocus spiritually to see clearly everything around us.

Emotions, feelings, and having the worlds vision can cause us to see deceptively. But God said, in this season there must be a refocus of your eyes to see how I see.

It’s like taking binoculars and looking at something, but you don’t see the picture as clearly as you should.

What do you do? There must be some adjustments, so we turn the knob slowly and carefully until you see everything clearly. This is what the Lord told that church at Laodicea.

He said I need you to anoint your eyes with eye salve that you may see. Rev 3:18

Then in verse 19, he said because I love you, I rebuke you and chaste you, and I want you to repent. So in essence the Lord said, I want you to refocus, so you can see as I see you, and then repent.

Today in humility, refocus and repent so that we can see clearly and truthfully as God sees!

Sweet Victory Through faith In Christ

1 Cor 15:57  But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

1 John 5:4, For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith.

How many of us know that we live in truly interesting times? So much uncertainty and sickness all around us, but I am reminded of what Paul told the Corinthian church in 1 Cor 15:57 – But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Although we live in tough times, we have sweet victory in Jesus name! Someone may say how so? Because I don’t feel like I have the victory!

Well, there is no defeat in Christ! No matter what you go through in life, whether it be sickness, financial difficulty, or loss of a loved one, always remember that we have the victory in Jesus name!

Paul said, thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through Jesus our LORD! Not only that but John confirms it in 1 John 5:4, For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith.

Did you hear that? Read it again! I encourage you to trust God, believe God, and have faith in the one who is well able to make all grace abound towards you!

What we see today in the world is fear of the unknown! But the Apostle John said whatever is born of God overcomes the world through faith!

Have you been born again of God? I mean, have you accepted Jesus Christ as LORD and Savior? I’m not talking about a Church relationship, or going to Church, which is important of course!

But do you have a relationship with Jesus Christ as LORD and Savior? I encourage you to put your faith in Christ.

In these times they we live in, only our faith in God will give us the absolute sweet victory over all obstacles that come against us.

Understand that as a child of God, you are in this world, but not of this world. Yes, we are citizens of the country in which we live and or born, but once you are born again in Christ, you become a citizen of the Kingdom of God.

Which means you are now entitled to the benefits of the Kingdom of God. Just like a US citizen, who is entitled to certain benefits in the country. It is the same in the Kingdom of God and even more! Look what the scripture says:

Phil 3:20  For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ.

Col 1:13  Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:
Col 1:14  In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins.

The benefits and blessings of the Kingdom of God are:

Protection, according to Isaiah 54:17.

Peace, according to Isaiah 26:3

Provision, according to Phil 4:19.

Prosperity, according 3 John 1:2.

Purpose, according to John 10:10, and so much more!

So, what must we do? Well, Paul tells us in 1 Cor 15:58-  Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.

People of God, I don’t care how bad it gets in this world. Don’t give up on God! Keep your faith strong in God. Never loose your faith, because your faith will give you the victory in Jesus name.

I encourage you to trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not to your own understanding, but in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your path. Proverbs 3:5-6

I say this not only because I read it in scripture, but through experience! Because God has given my family, members of our church, and many others, sweet victory through faith in Christ!

God bless, Pastor Quinn

The Wisdom of Change

Ecc 3:1  To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
Ecc 3:2  A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;
Ecc 3:3  A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;
Ecc 3:4  A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
Ecc 3:5  A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
Ecc 3:6  A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
Ecc 3:7  A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
Ecc 3:8  A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.

Good day all, Solomon in his wisdom tells us that change is inevitable. The word of wisdom is true. Take a look around you. God gives us times and seasons that show us the reality of change. Sam Cooke once wrote a song that said, “A change is gonna come.”

We must also be ready for the inevitable because in this life, change will surely come. Seasons change, the time changes, the weather changes, and sometimes your health changes. You may be healthy and whole today, and tomorrow that could change!

You may be in a relationship with someone, and something happens, God forbid, and it changes! Let’s be real, sometimes we are caught off guard by change! I have truly learned in life that everything has a time and season!

This is the wisdom Solomon shares with us in Ecclesiastes chapter 3. Change will come. The question is are we prepared for it? There are things that we have in the world today that we didn’t have in the 70’s 80’s or 90’s. Music has changed. Cars have changed. Church has changed, and lets be real, even people change. People will like you today, and maybe not so much tomorrow. Why? Because of change! Be prepared for it! But understand, there is one that will never change. That is God Almighty! The scripture says in Mal 3:6  For I am the LORD, I change not.

God will never change. The scripture says in Heb 13:8  Jesus Christ the same yesterday, today, and forever.  I am so glad that God does not change. This is why our faith, hope and love must be in him, and not in things! Why, because God is eternal. Isaiah the Prophet said that Yehovah is high and lofty and inhabits eternity!

Isa 57:15 – For thus says the High and Lofty One Who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy.

The Apostle Paul said in 2 Cor 4:18,  while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.

Take a look around, everything that we see in the natural can change! This is why we must be prepared in life for the unexpected. None of us expect the unexpected to happen, but if you understand what Solomon said about times and seasons in the earth, you will never be caught off guard!

Remember that everything in life that you see with the physical eye, has the potential to change. But the things that are unseen are eternal. Always be prepared for the unexpected, because as Solomon said, there is a time and season for every purpose under heaven, and remember the wise words of Sam Cooke….”A change is gonna come.” God Bless, Pastor Quinn

The Wounds of A Friend

Proverbs 27:6 KJ2000 Faithful are the wounds of a friend; but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful.

Solomon gives us wisdom that a true friend will tell you the truth in love, although sometimes the truth hurts. But it is the truth that makes us free! (John 8:32), and a friend does it with good intentions.

Likewise, a frienemy will tell you exactly what you want to hear, even if it isn’t the truth. Which can be harmful!

Jesus often said hard things in scripture to his disciples, but it wasn’t to hurt or harm them. It was to help them!

As a result, those same disciples became Apostles and world changers through the Gospel of the Kingdom!

Last but not least, always remember to encourage and build one another up. Never use words to tear one another down! Especially as believers in Christ! There is enough negativity in the world!

Today, as a friend give someone an encouraging Word that will make their day! God bless!

A Word of Pastoral Wisdom

Good day all,
Ecc 7:1 says, A good name is better than precious ointment; and the day of death than the day of one’s birth.

As I reflect on all the things that are transpiring in the world with COVID, life, death, hate, love, unity and division. I have come to the conclusion that time in this earth truly is very short!

Which means, do not take life for granted. Do not take friendships for granted. Do not take loved ones for granted. Because tomorrow is not promised! This is why today is called the “Present.”

Solomon, the wise man said that the day of one’s death is better than one’s birth. Why?

Because although birth is beautiful, we are born into a world full of trouble and pain. Especially in the times in which we live.

Death according to the wisest man that ever lived is inevitable, and is better than birth. No one likes death, but death in the Lord frees us from sickness, pain, trials, and troubles. Understand, that it shall come to us all. The Hebrews writer said in:

Heb 9:27 KJ2000, And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.

We shall all stand before the LORD one day. So, live life with joy and do not take relationships for granted. The Lord also said something profound in
Matt 22:37-40:

37 Jesus said unto him, You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like unto it, You shall love your neighbor as yourself. 40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

The greatest commandment is to love God with all your heart, and love your neighbor. In these two virtues are relationship with God and others. Repentance is unto God. Forgiveness is unto your neighbor.

Today, reflect on your life and your relationship with God and others. Remember, yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, but what you do today, determines your tomorrow!
Remember to live life today, with purpose in Christ!
