John 18:37-38 AKJV
37 Pilate therefore said to him, Are you a king then? Jesus answered, You say that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth. Every one that is of the truth hears my voice.
38 Pilate said to him, What is truth? And when he had said this, he went out again to the Jews, and said to them, I find in him no fault at all.
As we remember and prepare for the feast of Passover and Resurrection Sunday on April 9th in which we celebrate the Lamb of God, Jesus Christ who was raised from the dead.
I am reminded of Jesus Christ who stood before the Roman Governor Pilate and told him, “Everyone that is of the truth hears my voice.”
Pilate heard these words and said, “What is truth?”
These are very profound words, because Jesus said everyone that is of the truth hears my voice!
The LORD could say this because he was the way, the truth and the life.
The Bible says in John 14:6 AKJV, Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man comes to the Father, but by me.
What is truth? Truth is undeniable. Truth is rock solid. Truth can be based on facts, and facts can lead to truth. Truth is not an opinion. Truth is accuracy. Truth is authentic. Truth is not feelings. Truth is not man made. Truth is credible. Truth is not a theory. Truth can be debated, but in the end truth always prevails. Above all, the Word of God is truth!
The scripture says, John 17:17, Sanctify them through your truth: your word is truth.
Today, we hear the saying, live your truth, but if your truth is faulty, or based on a lie. Then you are deceived, because the opposite of truth is lies, falsehood, deception, or bamboozlement.
Truth brings freedom. This is why the truth is often suppressed. Jesus said in John 8:32, And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
There are a lot of lies that have been told in history, but one thing is true. Jesus (Yeshua) Christ is the way, the TRUTH, and the life.
He came into this world to bring freedom to every ethnicity, culture and color, every man, woman, boy, and girl. The truth is that he died on the cross, shed his blood for our sins and redeemed us back to God.
The Apostle Paul said in 1 Tim 2:4, that the Lord desires all men to be saved, and to come to the knowledge of the truth.
Jesus said, “I came into this world to bear witness to the truth, and everyone that is of truth hears my voice.” John 18:37
After Jesus said these wise words, the Roman Governor Pilate, a man who was an unbeliever said, “I find no fault in him at all.” John 18:38
Today, I pray that everyone who hears the truth of the Gospel, and these words during this Passover/Resurrection Sunday season, will have that same response, and do this:
Rom 10:9, That if you shall confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you shall be saved.
Trust him today! Believe in your heart and confess with your mouth that Yeshua Christ is Lord, and your life will never be the same. This my friend, is the truth of God’s Word!
God bless, Pastor Quinn
