The Word of encouragement today is: The Name of the LORD!
Prov 18:10 The name of the LORD is a strong tower; The righteous run to it and are safe.
As believers in Christ, we often say the phrase; “There is power in the name of Jesus” and many of us by faith have experienced that awesome power through salvation in Jesus name!
But there are many people who may not believe or understand the power of that great name! So, let me share why the name of the LORD is a strong tower of safety!
First of all we know there are many names in the earth, and some are famous and significant, but none can come close to the name of JESUS CHRIST!
In the book of Revelation, there were seven churches that received letters from the LORD, but what is interesting is that one of those churches; the church of Philadelphia received a profound word from the LORD, because they kept his word and did not deny his name! (Don’t miss the revelation!)
Rev 3:7 And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write; These things says he that is holy, he that is true, he that hath the key of David, he that opens, and no man shuts; and shuts, and no man opens;
Rev 3:8 I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name.
Did you hear that? The LORD blessed that church because they kept his Word, and did not deny his Name!
Not only that, but they received another blessed word from the LORD as well:
Rev 3:12 He who overcomes, I will make him a pillar in the temple of My God, and he shall go out no more. I will write on him the name of My God and the name of the city of My God, the New Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from My God. And I will write on him My new name.
This is powerful, out of all the names of God, there is a name that we do not know. It is reserved for the faithful overcoming church and believers!
I want to encourage you to stand strong in the “Word of God and on the Name of God” because in these two things we receive healing, wholeness, grace, mercy, blessing, strength, victory, protection, provision and power!
Many will say that Jesus is not the real name, so they disagree! But the English transliteration of Jesus comes to us from the Latin name “Iesous” and the original Hebrew name “Yeshua” which means salvation!
I want to say that after 30 years of being saved, the name of Jesus has never failed me or let me down!!! In fact it has blessed my life, my family, the church and the people of God!
In Psalm 91:14-16 the scripture says:
Psa 91:14 Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.
Psa 91:15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honor him.
Psa 91:16 With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.
Salvation in the Hebrew in verse 16 means “Yeshua” which is: Something saved, deliverance; aid, victory, prosperity, health, and salvation!
Jesus did all this on our behalf when he died on the cross for our sins!
Some use the Hebrew name; “Yehoshua” which is comes to us from “Joshua” and means “Yehovah saves.” Both Yeshua and Yehoshua are correct because they point to what Christ did at the cross of Calvary.
God himself saved us, delivered us, healed us, cleansed, washed us and gave us life more abundantly in his name and through his blood!
Throughout the Bible we find so many names for the one true God which are (Elohim) God, or (El Elyon) The Most High God or (El Shaddai) which is God Almighty!
All of these names for the LORD are symbolic of heavenly majesty, power, authority, anointing, grace and peace! In fact, I have not even mentioned all the names that represent God and his character. These are just a few!
I want you to know that whatever you are going through today, put the Word of God and the Name of God on it to get absolute victory!
If it is healing, call on the name of Yehovah Rapha, who is the LORD our healer! (Exodus 15:26)
If it is need that you have, call on the name of Yehovah Yireh, our provider, who will supply all of your need according to his riches in glory. (Genesis 22:8) (Phil 4:19)
If it is peace that you in the midst of the storm, call on the name of Yehovah Shalom who is the LORD our peace! (Judges 6:24) (Isaiah 26:3)
If it is protection you need, call on the name of Yehovah Nissi, who is our banner, (Exodus 17:15) and goes before us to give us the victory and Yehovah Sabboath, (1 Samuel 1:3) who is the LORD and commander of the heavenly host and armies in heaven.
The Psalmist tells us in Psalm 18: 2-3
Psa 18:2 The LORD is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; My God, my strength, in whom I will trust; My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.
Psa 18:3 I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised; So shall I be saved from my enemies.

Whatever you are going through, call on the name of the LORD who is worthy to be praised, and you shall be saved from your enemies!
Last but not least, the Bible tells us in Philippians 2:9-11 something profound about the name of Jesus Christ!
Php 2:9 Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name,
Php 2:10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth,
Php 2:11 and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
Whatever you are going through and whatever you need, always remember that, “The name of the LORD is a strong tower, the righteous run into it, and they are safe!
