Micah 6:8 He has shown you, O man, what is good; And what does the LORD require of you but to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?
When we read about all the turmoil in the world, innocent people being murdered, unjust laws, and unjust decisions made by leaders and rulers in the earth, people in the world often wonder where they can get justice.
We find God rendering justice all throughout the Bible. This is a constant theme especially in the Old Testament where the children of Israel often cried out to the LORD for justice, and he would raise up a deliverer to deliver his people. This is why Moses and the Judges were raised up in the Old Testament because God heard the cries and prayers of his people!
Although we have human judges and they have been given the authority to judge in a court of law, we should take comfort in knowing that there is one who will judge humanity with righteousness. The Bible calls him a Righteous Judge! Listen to the scriptures:
Psa 50:6 And the heavens shall declare his righteousness: for God is judge himself.
Psa 96:13 For He is coming, for He is coming to judge the earth. He shall judge the world with righteousness, and the peoples with His truth.
One thing we must remember is that God is all about justice, mercy, equity and compassion!
Psa 98:9 Before the LORD; for he cometh to judge the earth: with righteousness shall he judge the world, and the people with equity.
Zechariah 7:9 This is what the LORD Almighty said: ‘Administer true justice; show mercy and compassion to one another.
Isaiah 30:18 Yet the LORD longs to be gracious to you; therefore he will rise up to show you compassion. For the LORD is a God of justice. Blessed are all who wait for him!
Isaiah 56:1 This is what the LORD says: “Maintain justice and do what is right, for my salvation is close at hand and my righteousness will soon be revealed.
The Bible says that one day the LORD will come and he will administer true heavenly justice for the oppressed.
Act 17:31 Because he has appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he has ordained; whereof he has given assurance to all men, in that he has raised him from the dead.
It is amazing today that there are people who say that they are believers in Christ but cannot separate their ideology, skin color and political party from the true Gospel of Jesus Christ.
God is all about fairness, equity, justice, mercy and compassion. Anyone who says that they know the LORD Jesus Christ, and does not have these same values or attributes is lost and denies the faith.
When we read the scriptures we find that that Jesus came to administer true justice for the oppressed.
Luk 4:18 “The Spirit of the Lord is on Me; because of this He has anointed Me to preach the Gospel to the poor. He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and new sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed.”
Notice that the ministry of Jesus Christ was all about preaching the good news, healing the brokenhearted, preaching deliverance to the captives, giving sight to the blind, and providing liberty to the captives!
This is true justice indeed! Jesus was all about tearing down walls that kept people captive and in bondage, not building walls! ( : I believe that this is the season where the prayer warriors, intercessors and true saints of God need to cry out to God for justice and he will hear and answer!
There is a story in Luke chapter 18 about a persistent widow who needed justice. Jesus tells us this parable to illustrate a point that God hears our prayers and will administer righteous justice. The parable is about a widow who went to a judge who was not a righteous man.
Jesus tells us that this judge did not fear God nor regard man. In other words he didn’t believe in God and didn’t care about men or women! What is interesting is that after this persistent widow kept going to him, eventually he gave this woman what she wanted, which was justice against her adversary! Let’s read!
Luk 18:1 And he spoke a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;
Luk 18:2 Saying, there was in a city a judge, which feared not God, neither regarded man:
Luk 18:3 And there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary.
Luk 18:4 And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man;
Luk 18:5 Yet because this widow troubles me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me.
Luk 18:6 And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge saith.
Luk 18:7 And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them?
Luk 18:8 I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?
Jesus tells us that after a while this unrighteous judge eventually gave this woman justice against her adversary!
How many of us know that we all have an adversary who desires to kill, steal, and destroy? Adversary in the Greek literally means an opponent in a lawsuit or Satan himself!
So this woman was literally saying grant me justice against the devil!
How many of us know today that the devil is running rampant in our communities, cities and country and we need justice from the Righteous Judge!
He then makes a profound point that we need to take hold of in Luke 18: 6-8
Luk 18:6 And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge saith.
Luk 18:7 And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them?
Luk 18:8 I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?
Jesus was literally saying that if a human judge who does not fear God, nor regard man can give justice to an oppressed and downtrodden widow. How much more will the Righteous God of heaven and earth answer you and me who cry out to him day and night!
The Bible says that God will answer them speedily! He then tells us, “Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes will he find faith on the earth?” The real question is, “ Do you believe that God is able to make all grace abound toward you?”
This is a season where we need overcoming faith to trust God who will make all grace abound toward us. We need to know that God will render the appropriate justice to those who work unrighteousness and we will get the victory in Jesus Name!
There is a time and season coming when God will bring all things to the heavenly court to administer the proper justice to those who are unjust!
Just think about this for a moment. If a human judge can administer justice, how much more will the Righteous judge of heaven and earth administer righteous justice! People of God, be encouraged, keep praying and know that Jesus is coming soon. He return is imminent and he will grant righteous justice and judgment to all whom it is due!
Rev 19:11 Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war.
Rev 19:12 His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. He had a name written that no one knew except Himself.
Rev 19:13 He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God.
Rev 19:14 And the armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, followed Him on white horses.
Rev 19:15 Now out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should strike the nations. And He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. He Himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.
Rev 19:16 And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.
Let us remember that Jesus came to the earth as a lamb, but he is coming back as a lion!
