Where are you?

Gen 3:9 Then the LORD God called to Adam and said to him, “Where are you?”

Luk 2:48 So when they saw Him, they were amazed; and His mother said to Him, “Son, why have You done this to us? Look, Your father and I have sought You anxiously.”
Luk 2:49 And He said to them, “Why did you seek Me? Did you not know that I must be about My Father’s business?”

In the book of Genesis chapter 3: 1-9, after Adam and Eve had disobeyed the LORD, He asked Adam a very important question?  Which was,  “Adam, where are you?” Now we all know that God is all present and all knowing so it wasn’t a location or physical question.  It was a spiritual question, in which God was drawing Adam into what God already knows. It was also a rhetorical question in which God himself wanted to make a statement rather than to elicit information.

Why is this important to all of us? Because prophetically he is asking the people of the nations, saved and unsaved, churched and unchurched, ” Where are you?”  Many of us know where we are physically, or location wise, but where are you spiritually in your walk with the LORD. Are you just waltzing through life and your relationship with the LORD, or are you pursuing the Kingdom purpose for your life? I can remember long time ago, back in the day, one of my favorite rappers, Rakim used to say, “Its not where you from, it’s where you at!”

We are now in July, soon to be August, headed toward December. Where are you spiritually? Is prayer and the study of the word a priority in your life. Is fellowship, and worship a priority in your life? Or just pleasure all the time? We should never ever just going through the motions of weekly worship, where we can check off the, “I went to church box today.”

My brothers and sisters, we must be about our Fathers business. In Matt 24:38-44, Jesus speaking about the days of Noah, said that just as it was in those days, it will be in our days before the LORD’s return. People were doing their normal stuff, eating, drinking, working, making that money, partying, sleeping, and everything else. So the LORD exhorts us in Mat 24:44, “Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.”

These are very powerful Words for he or she that has an ear to hear! I am reminded of Jesus parents who asked him a question as to where he was, and unlike Adam, Jesus said in Luke 2:49  “And He said to them, “Why did you seek Me? Did you not know that I must be about My Father’s business?” Whoot, there it is!  That is the word for you and me. Its time to be about our Fathers Kingdom business in this new season. So I want to ask you a question as a little Shepherd on behalf of the Chief Shepherd, Jesus Christ,  “Where are you?” Only you know that answer, and only you can answer that question! I pray you would ponder those wise words as I have, and make the proper spiritual adjustments in your life!

God Bless! Pastor Quinn
