Strong in Christ

2 Cor 12:9-10 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for you: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather boast in my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

10 Therefore I take pleasure in weaknesses, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.

Sometimes we go through things in life through trials, tribulations, tests, troubles and tragedies, and we pray diligently to the Lord for help.

Many times those prayers are answered and we praise and bless God for his healing grace! But sometimes when the healing doesn’t manifest as we desire, what do we do?

Well, according to scripture, God gives us the grace and strength to get through it!

The Apostle Paul shares with us that he prayed to the Lord three times that whatever was troubling or ailing him might depart from him. God told him, ” My grace is sufficient for you.”

In other words, I’m not going to heal or deliver you from it, but I’ll give you the grace to get through it. These are truly powerful words indeed!

Then the Lord told him, “My strength is made perfect in weakness!” Isn’t that powerful! In a time when we know that the power of the Holy Ghost can enable us to do the impossible, God said my strength is made perfect in weakness!

Do we really believe that? Paul did! Paul said, if that’s true, then I’m gonna boast in my weakness that the power of Christ will rest upon me.

In other words, through my weakness, humility, surrender and faith in God, The power of Christ will rest upon me. It’s amazing that people today think that because we are meek, we are weak! Christ was meek and weak at the cross, but had all power in his hand!

He then goes on to say in verse 10, “Therefore I take pleasure in weaknesses, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.”

Paul said, “I’m not gonna boast in my strengths, I’m gonna boast in my weaknesses in Christ, for when I am weak, then I am strong in Christ! Hallelujah!

Did you hear that? It’s not so much about what you can achieve, or what you can do in your own strength, but what Christ can do through you in your weakness!

People of God, Be encouraged and know that you can do all things through Christ who gives you the strength. It may be trial, tribulation, test or trouble. A vision, a dream, goal, or aspiration.

Regardless of what it is, the strength of God through Christ is able to make all grace abound toward you!

Be blessed, Pastor Quinn
