Loving God and loving your neighbor

Mat 22:35-40 AKJV
35 Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a question, tempting him, and saying,
36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law?

37 Jesus said to him, You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.
38 This is the first and great commandment.

39 And the second is like to it, You shall love your neighbor as yourself.
40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

Loving God and loving your neighbor are powerful virtues. Two things that we all need. Just as repentance is unto God and forgiveness is unto our neighbor. No man or woman in Christ can ever reach their full potential without these heavenly virtues.

I was thinking some time ago, if these two virtues are great commandments, could we stand before God and give an account of our love walk? I believe so.

Today, tell the Lord how much you love him, and show love and kindness to your neighbor.

God bless, Pastor Quinn

  1. When the Lord speaks about loving your neighbors, is he talking about just your next door neighbors or your neighbors in the neighborhood?

  2. I meant or your neighborhood?
