The LORD is the Righteous Judge!

In Luke chapter 18, the Lord tells a story (parable) about the importance of praying always and not to faint.

Luk 18:1 And he spoke a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint.

But deep in this story is another revelation we cannot miss. That the LORD is a Righteous Judge who will grant us justice through our persistent prayer and faith.

There are two people in the story of Luke chapter 18. A widow woman who needed justice from her adversary, and a judge who did not fear God nor man.

Read and listen to the scripture!

Luke 18:2-3

2 Saying, There was in a city a judge, who feared not God, neither regarded man: 3 And there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying, avenge me of my adversary.

The Bible says that this woman wanted justice against her adversary, and the judge would not give her the verdict of justice that she needed.

But she kept going to the judge persistently, and would not relent or give up, and eventually the judge gave her what she needed!

Read Luke 18:4-5

4 And he would not for awhile: but afterward he said within himself, though I fear not God, nor regard man; 5 Yet because this widow troubles me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she wearies me.

The Bible says that the judge didn’t fear God or man, but eventually gave in, and gave her justice because of her persistence!

Then the Lord shifts the story to give us some revelation.

Read Luke 18:6-8

6 And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge said. 7 And shall not God avenge his own elect, who cry day and night unto him, though he bears long with them? 8 I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man comes, shall he find faith on the earth?

So, through this parable, the Lord tells us that an unrighteous judge gave this widow woman justice, because of her continual coming and persistence to get justice against her adversary.

This is a powerful story and there is much more prophetic revelation in this story we cannot miss! Let me explain!

1. The widow woman could be the church, or the people of God. The church is always pictured as a bride. It is also a picture of the believers or someone who needs justice.

2. The unrighteous judge is symbolic of a human judge or man in the earth who will not give adequate justice!

3. The adversary is Satan himself. Adversary in the Greek is “antidikos” which means an opponent (in a lawsuit); specifically Satan (as the arch enemy).

4. The righteous judge is the LORD who always administers sound judgment and justice in righteousness!

5. When we pray continously and persistently, crying out to the Lord, God will hear and grant our requests, and give us justice but we must have faith!

There is so much more revelation in this wonderful parable concerning persistence, prayer and faith, but the reality is, God is the Righteous Judge, who will always give us justice against when men will not!

As I read the news and see what is happening in the earth today. The adversary is constantly killing, stealing and destroying lives in the earth.

There is so much injustice at times that it can wear you down!

Although we have those in government who make laws, such as politicians, and those who are to uphold laws such as police and human judges, let’s be real!

Man does not always give us the justice that we need. Sometimes we get injustice, but God will always render us righteous justice!

Jesus said, I have come, that you may have life and life more abundantly.

John 10:10 says, The thief comes not, but to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

Regardless of what the adversary or man does, God will always render righteous justice, but we must pray and cry out to the Righteous Judge of heaven and earth! Listen to the holy scriptures!

Luk 18:7 says, And shall not God avenge his own elect, who cry day and night unto him, though he bears long with them?

The revelation of it all is: If a man who is an unrighteous judge can give a widow woman justice, how much more can God, who is the Righteous Judge give us justice!! Praise God!
