Unshakeable Faith!

1 Corinthians 15:58  Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.

The Apostle Paul exhorts the people of God in the Corinthian church to be steadfast, immovable and always abounding in the work of the LORD!

This is a good word for us as well, because in order to do greater works for the LORD, it is important that we have unshakeable faith and be steadfast, immovable and always abounding in the work of the LORD!

Because sometimes in this journey of faith as we are laboring and serving, we sometimes get tired!

Likewise, we can get comfortable in the things of God or the work of the LORD, because things are good.

How so? You may say. Well, when we are in need or have a need, we tend to seek God and pray more diligently, but when things are good, and the blessings are flowing we can get comfortable. This is an error!

Because when we are walking in the blessing, we should press in all the more. We should be steadfast all the more. We should be immovable all the more, and we should be abounding in the work of the LORD all the more!

And of course, we need rest, yes, we need to refresh, but always remember the devil doesn’t rest.

He comes to steal, kill and to destroy, and has been doing it from the beginning when he was cast out of the heavens. The Bible says that while men slept, the enemy sowed tares.

Matt 13:25 But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat and went his way.

In other words, when you are at your most comfortable state, you are vulnerable! Wow!

But what does it mean to be steadfast? The word steadfast in the Bible has multiple meanings, including loyalty, devotion, and being firm in belief. It means to be firmly fixed in place, not subject to change, firm in belief, and determination!

What does it mean to be immovable? It literally means to be incapable of being move, not moving or not intended to be moved. It also means to be uncompromising, firm, solid, stable, unshakable and unyielding!

What does it mean to be abounding in the work of the LORD? Abounding in the work of the LORD means to be very plentiful, abundant, or to exist in abundance, or to increase.

So, Paul is telling them to give themselves to the LORD and to be fruitful, plentiful and abundant in everything that pertains to the work of LORD, and in proclaiming the gospel and building the church!

These are wise words that we should all heed, knowing that our labor is not in vain in the LORD!

So, let us stay sharp in the spirit, persistent in prayer, strong in warfare, wise as a serpent and harmless as a dove in all things as it pertains to life and godliness, and even the work of the ministry.

God Bless,

Pastor Quinn
