Good day family and friends, please read this Word of encouragement from ML Excellence devotional and books!
The Word of God tells us in Duet 6:4-7
4 Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD, 5 And you shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might.
6 And these words, which I command you this day, shall be in your heart:
7 And you shall teach them diligently unto your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise up.
This scripture is a powerful reminder that we are to live our lives as examples in the earth for God, and to always guide our children toward God, no matter what the world does or celebrates!
Sometimes as a citizen of the Kingdom of God, and a citizen in the world, we are caught between two opinions: What the world does, and what the Word says!
As a chosen people of God, a royal preisthood, and a holy nation,(1 Peter 2:9) we are to follow the ways of the LORD, and the Word of God, rather than the ways of the world.
Sometimes this can be conflicting, because of the world’s system and the world’s values, and people around us may not understand why we believe what we believe!
But as a follower of a Christ, it is OK to follow the Word of God, and to set Biblical standards for yourself and your family.
Joshua once told the Israelites, that were caught between two opinions of the nation’s around them, “As for me and my house, we shall serve the LORD.” (Joshua 24:15)
The Lord Jesus said, “You are the salt of the earth, and the light of the world!” Which means you add seasoning to that which is bland, and you are light that emanates the darkness! (Matt 5:13-14)
The Apostle Paul said, “You are ambassador’s for Christ.” (2 Cor 5:20)
An ambassador is a representative of thier country, in another country!
Isn’t this who we are as believers in Christ? Representatives of the Kingdom of God, representing God in our communities, cities and country!
So, anytime you feel as though Biblical standards are a cut above the world, too strict, or too much! Remember that is how God ordained it to be!
And last but not least, always remember who God called you to be, and who you are in Christ!
God bless, Pastor Quinn
