Your Spiritual Growth and New Life in Christ!

2 Corinthians 5:17  Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

This is a very powerful scripture indeed! Because the Apostle Paul tells us that once we are in Christ, we have become a new creature or new creation. Old things have passed away, and all things have become new!

This scripture is for every believer in Christ, whether you are young, old, new believer, mature believer, recommitted believer or a person who is desiring to be all they can be in Christ.

If you just accepted Christ, got baptized or recommitted your life to Christ. It is even more important!~

So, lets explain this powerful change in our lives, once we are born again through salvation in Christ, and baptized in Jesus name!

Jesus told a religious leader named Nicodemus, in the book of John, that he must be born again in order to see the Kingdom of God and to enter into the Kingdom of God!

Joh 3:3  Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
Joh 3:4  Nicodemus said to Him, “How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born?”
Joh 3:5  Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.
Joh 3:6  That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

So, literally Jesus told him that he was born into this world via flesh, but in order to be born again, he must born of the spirit in order to enter into God’s kingdom.

This is what is referred to as being born again! This time, not of natural flesh, water and blood (via mama and daddy), but through (salvation in Christ) by the spirit, water and blood!

The only way this can be accomplished is via repentance, confession of sin, receiving Christ as LORD and Savior, then baptism! This is how we become new creatures in Christ! (Read Acts 2:38)

Paul then tells us, that if any man or woman be in Christ, (through salvation and being born again of the spirit) old things which are the old nature, thoughts, deeds, words and actions are passed away, and all things have become new!

Which means you are a new creature, washed clean through the water and blood of Christ, and you have the new birth in Christ spiritually!

So, if you have been born again in Christ! Just got baptized, or recommitted your life to Christ! The question is what do I do now?

Well, in order to grow, you must eat the right things spiritually!

When a new baby comes into this world, we don’t give them meat, we give them milk and we support them. So in order to grow you must:

  1. Read and study the Word of God! Jesus said in Mat 4:4,  But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeded out of the mouth of God.
  2. In other words, you need a healthy diet from the Word of God. Don’t just get the sweets and goodies of the word, which is the feel good stuff. But partake of everything that helps you grow strong in Christ! Which are the vegetables of the Word as well!
  3. How do you do that? Get a daily devotional of your choice, or get a daily bread devotional where you can read a scripture and word of encouragement each day or read it online at https://www.odbm.org/devotionals  or do a personal bible study.
  4. You can also read the Proverbs for wisdom, or read the Psalms for praise and worship related things.
  5. To learn more about Christ, read the Gospels for the life of Christ, and all that Christ taught the disciples about the Kingdom of God. Especially the book of John.
  6. You can also read the letters also called Epistles from the Apostles. Some good ones to start with are Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians and James. There are many more, but these are a start.
  7. There are some things to remember when reading and studying: 1. Remember to ask the Holy Spirit to give you clarity and understanding  2. Read often and 3. Read slowly.
  8. Listen to the Word of God. The Bible says that in Rom 10:17,  So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
  9. Listen to the Word of God from your Pastors and other leaders who are preaching and teaching good biblically inspired sermons and teachings.
  10. Take good notes from what you read and hear! Just like a student in a college class would take notes. So should you! There is no way a person can remember every word from the sermon and Bible study all the time. So taking notes enables you to go back and read and get a confirmation to remember all you heard.
  11. Ask Questions. Sometimes, no matter how much we hear, read or study, we need someone to show us or teach us so we can understand it!
  12. This is confirmed in the book of Act 8:30, “So Philip ran to him, and heard him reading the prophet Isaiah, and said, “Do you understand what you are reading?” Act 8:31  “And he said, “How can I, unless someone guides me?” And he asked Philip to come up and sit with him.
  13. You can also talk to your Pastor, a leader in the church, or someone you trust!
  14. Last but not least, stay connected to Christ and the Body of Christ! Go to church, go to Bible study,  and participate in corporate prayer and church ministries!

These are some of the things that a new believer, a recommitted believer, or even a mature believer can do to grow strong in the LORD!

Remember putting on Christ or being in Christ, is like a seat belt in a car on a journey. On this Christian journey, there can be dangers, toils, and snares.

While you are on this spiritual journey, if you have a situation, accident, trial, or tribulation, you have the blessed assurance of Christ, who is your salvation seat belt of protection.

The Lord will protect you in the midst of anything you go through in this journey of life so you don’t crash out!

So, be encouraged in your spiritual growth and life in Christ, and always be all you can be in the LORD!

Words that bring eternal life

Good day family and friends, blessings! Today’s devotional focus is on the eternal words of Christ that bring life!

Read John 6:60-69

Sometimes Christ would say hard things to his followers not to hurt them but to challenge them!

The Lord Jesus recognized that words touch our hearts and challenge us spiritually and personally.

When Jesus challenged the 70 disciples, with the words, “Eat my flesh and drink my blood, many followed him no more!” John 6:66

Always remember that revelational and truthful words may hurt us in the moment, but they will also change us and help us, if we receive them by faith!

Using Your Gifts and Talents for the Glory of God!

Friday Word of Encouragement from ML Excellence Devotional and books entitled:

Using your gifts and talents for the glory of God!

Exo 31:1  Then the LORD spoke to Moses, saying:
Exo 31:2  “See, I have called by name Bezalel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah.
Exo 31:3  And I have filled him with the Spirit of God, in wisdom, in understanding, in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship,
Exo 31:4  to design artistic works, to work in gold, in silver, in bronze,
Exo 31:5  in cutting jewels for setting, in carving wood, and to work in all manner of workmanship.
Exo 31:6  “And I, indeed I, have appointed with him Aholiab the son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan; and I have put wisdom in the hearts of all the gifted artisans, that they may make all that I have commanded you:
Exo 31:7  the tabernacle of meeting, the ark of the Testimony and the mercy seat that is on it, and all the furniture of the tabernacle.

What has God called you to do?

God is the one who graces us with gifts, talents and abilities!

As Moses was building the Tabernacle by the commandment of the LORD, God gave him individuals who could work the work with excellence!

These individuals were graced with the spirit of God, in wisdom, in understanding and knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship!

As it was then, so it is now. God has graced each and every one of us with gifts, talents and abilities to bless your life and the Kingdom of God.

The Apostle Paul tells us in Eph 4:8, “Wherefore he saith, “When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.”

James tells us in Jas 1:17, “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.”

Jesus told a parable in Matthew 25 about the parable of the talents, where three servants, where given talents, and the owner told them to do something with them.

In those days it was a weighted sum of money. Today we call them talents, because it equates to what God has gifted and graced us with in abilities, gifts and talents!

One servant was given five, another two, and another one, according to their own ability. This is profound! God gave them what they could handle and nothing more!

This is important to note, because whatever you have, be content in the abilities you have, without looking at what others have, but understand God will give you the ability to multiply it and add to it!

So, whatever you have, you don’t have to look at others, just stay focused in what God has called us to do with what we have!

Likewise, whatever gifts, talents and abilities we have, use it for the glory of God! Whether you have five, two or one gift. It came from God, and when we use it for his glory, God blesses us to be a blessing and increases us with much more!

Lastly, when we are good stewards as unto the LORD, we are commended as two of the servants were, and we will hear:

“Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.”

God bless,

Diligence and Faithfulness

Good day all,

Prov 22:29 KJ2000 See you a man diligent in his business? He shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before obscure men.

The wise man Solomon tells us that a man or woman who is faithful and diligent in their work shall do great things.

They will be noticed, they will stand out from the crowd. They will ascend, and they will stand before great men!

On the contrary, those who are the opposite will fade into mediocrity and obscurity. They will be like sand blown into the wind, landing some where, but nowhere.

The Bible tells us that a faithful man shall abound with blessings. (Prov 28:20).

Endeavor to be faithful and diligent in your work according to scripture, which has the potential to propel and promote you to greatness!

The Lord Jesus is our great example, who said, “I must be about my fathers business.” (Luke 2:49)

The Rock of Our Salvation and a Rock of Offense

1Peter 2:6  Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Zion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believes on him shall not be confounded.
1Pe 2:7  Therefore, to you who believe, He is precious; but to those who are disobedient, “The stone which the builders rejected has become the Chief Cornerstone,”
1Pe 2:8  and “A stone of stumbling and a ROCK OF OFFENSE.” They stumble, being disobedient to the word, to which they also were appointed.

These are very powerful scriptures that speak of Jesus Christ who is the Rock of our Salvation. Psalm 95:1  tells us, “Oh come, let us sing to the LORD! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation.”

Why is he a Rock? Because a rock is firm and solid. Christ is a Firm Foundation. The strongest foundation I have ever stood upon in my life. Many will agree! But to some he is not. They reject him!

The scripture says in 1 Cor 3:11, “No other foundation can any man lay, than that which is laid, Jesus Christ.”

The scripture also says that the stone which the builders rejected has become the Chief Cornerstone.” 1 Peter 2:7

Many stumble because they refuse to believe and accept that Jesus (Yeshua) Christ is LORD. I can recall many years ago as a young man growing up in the church, but later stumbling in disobedience to the Word of God, then coming back to the LORD! 30 years later, I have no regrets!

The Gospel of the Kingdom and of our LORD Jesus Christ changed by life and family totally, as with many others.

I often share with those who are unbelievers and have a negative mindset toward Church, do not allow your unbelief to become a Rock of Offense, which has eternal implications, but embrace him as the the Rock of our Salvation!

Why is this important? Jesus once told the religious leaders who didn’t believe that he was the Christ something profound. It was a prophetic scripture by the Psalmist King David that said:

Psalm 118:22  The stone which the builders refused is become the head stone of the corner. (Chief Cornerstone)
Psa 118:23  This is the LORD’S doing; it is marvelous in our eyes.

This scripture was written many years before Christ, but Christ quoted it to the religious leaders who embraced King David, the wonderful Psalmist of Israel, but denied that Jesus was the Christ!

So, when Christ told them about their unbelief quoted by King David, he said prophetically:

Mat 21:42  Jesus said unto them, Did you never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord’s doing, and it is marvelous in our eyes?

He then goes on to tell them:

Mat 21:43  Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof.
Mat 21:44  And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.

Read verse 44 again! Whoever falls on this stone (this rock) shall be broken, but whoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder!

Don’t miss this! Let me interpret it! If you fall humbly on Christ, you will be broken, humbled and saved. But if this rock, this stone who is Christ falls on you, you will be ground to powder!

Literally it is saying, it is better to humble yourself, and fall down before Christ and acknowledge him as LORD, before that terrible day of judgment, because if not, this Rock will fall on you and crush you!

It is a prophetic metaphoric verse that speaks of God’s grace and mercy now, or God’s judgment later! So, as we progress deeper into the years to come, no man knows the hour nor the time!

Come to know Christ now, not so much Church or religion but first, come to Jesus, who is the Rock of our Salvation, and to others; a Rock of Offense! The question is; who will he be to you?

First fruits for the New Year

Good day family and friends,

Blessings on this 1st Sunday of the year 2025! As we go to the house of the Lord, let us remember Rom 15:4, which says, these things were written for our learning, that we through the patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.

Although we are not under the law, there is profound scripture in Deut 26:9-10, which says..

9 And he has brought us into this place, and has given us this land, even a land that flows with milk and honey.
10 And now, behold, I have brought the firstfruits of the land, which you, O LORD, have given me. And you shall set it before the LORD your God, and worship before the LORD your God.

What is first fruits? It is when the people of God recognized the goodness of God throughout the last year, and in the new year purposed in their heart to give God their best praise, worship, and offering!

Why did they do that? They recognized that the first was always Holy to God, because it set a precedent of blessings for the new year!

As we are lead by the Holy spirit of God, let us follow that Biblical standard and start the new year off giving God the best of all that we are, have, and desire to be! To God be the glory!

God bless, Pastor Quinn

7. True friendship stands the test of time.

The Revelation of Victory and Defeat

2 Chron 20:3-4
3 And Jehoshaphat feared, and set his face to seek the LORD, and proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah.
4 And Judah gathered themselves together, to ask help of the LORD: even out of all the cities of Judah they came to seek the LORD.

When you read 2 Chron 20:1-30, The people of Judah understood they needed a miracle move of God. So all the people came together to consecrate and seek the Lord.

This revelation of victory in this story is all the people coming together. Not just one family, but the entire Judah and Jerusalem family. Recognizing they needed divine intervention from the Lord.

On the flip side, when we are me minded, fractured, isolated and divided, there is no victory only defeat.

Jesus told us in Matt 12:25,
“Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand.”

The Holy spirit moves in the midst of a unified people and church. When we understand this awesome revelation, we will never allow the enemy to divide us, and we will begin to do greater works and miracles for the Lord!

God’s Patience and Perfect Timing

Hello all, A Word of encouragement from ML Excellence devotional and books entitled: God’s Patience and Perfect Timing

2 Pet 3:8-9 AKJV
8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is long-suffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

How many of us know that God’s timing is not our timing? God is eternal and immortal. We are not.

The scripture says that 1 day with the Lord is as 1000 years. That is amazing! In other words, we cannot comprehend the timing of God!

We are subject to time, but God is outside of time. So we should never try to put God on a timetable or schedule. This is why patience is important.

We should thank God that he is so patient with us. Because he gives us time to forgive others, to repent, and get things in our relationship with him and others right.

God is so patient that he does not want us to perish. He desires for us to live and have life more abundantly in him!

Let us never take God’s grace for granted, although he is loving, kind and compassionate!

One day he will come back to settle spiritual accounts with every person in this earthrealm, to give an account for words, works and deeds done in the body!

When is that time? No one knows, but Father God only according to Christ. (Matt 24:36).

Be encouraged and blessed as you wait on the LORD for all things in life, knowing that God’s time is always perfect!

God bless,
Pastor Quinn 😊 🙏🏾 👍🏾
