The Word of the LORD for this week is True Worship from John 3:23-24:
Joh 4:23 But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him.
Joh 4:24 God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”
Lets talk about true worship! What is your definition of true worship? If it lines up with John 4:23-24, then your understanding of true worship is excellent! Because worship is a serious expression of love toward our Heavenly Father and our LORD Jesus Christ! Worship involves the lifting of hands, bowing, lying prostrate before the LORD, and sometimes even crying out in the presence of God.
Worship is not just what we do on Sunday. Most people don’t understand true worship. They think that worship only occurs when we play certain slow gospel songs. This could be further from the truth! Worship is a lifestyle. We worship God with our life, we worship God with our giving, we worship God with our words, we worship God in spirit and in truth, and we worship him in the beauty of his holiness! (1 Chron 16:29, and Psalm 29:2) Every believer must understand the importance of true worship. Jesus said, the time is coming and is NOW come, when the true worshippers will worship the Father (Almighty God), in spirit and in truth!
Worship begins at home, and we must teach our children how to worship as well. The Bible clearly says that we should worship the LORD our God, and him only we shall serve! (Matt 4:10) If there is anything in your life that takes the place of God, it is an idol, and you are guilty of idol worship. God will not share his glory with anything or anyone, so we must be careful! (Exo 20:3-4)
Today people worship movie stars, athletes, material things, money, and even false idols. These things will lead you down a dark path of false worship, in which Satan will exploit for his evil purposes. We must not fall into this trap of deception! Let us stay focused, keep our eyes and mind stayed on Jesus Christ, and worship him in spirit and in truth!
This week, don’t wait until Sunday. Take some time, get in a quiet place, seek the face of Almighty God, get into his presence, pray, and worship him in spirit and in truth. Tell the LORD how much you love him, and that there is none like him in all the whole earth! When you do this, you will experience his love, presence and power like never before! (Psalm 16:11) God Bless!
