A famine of hearing the Word of God

Hear the Word of the LORD…

Amo 8:11-13 KJ2000
11 Behold, the days come, says the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD:
12 And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the LORD, and shall not find it.
13 In that day shall the fair virgins and young men faint for thirst.

Those days are here… Where people hunger and thirst after worldly things and not spiritual things.

Often times many people believe spiritual things have no value today. Even those who say they know the Lord.

The Bible says in Rom 10:17, faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.

Your faith and walk in the Lord is made stronger when you hear the Word, receive the Word, believe the Word, meditate in the Word, and walk out the Word.

Question? Are you hearing the Word of the Lord? Or do we have selective hearing? Where we hear what we want to hear.

Physical things sustain your flesh. Spiritual things sustain your spirit.

Jesus said in Mat 4:4 KJ2000 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.

Mat 5:6 KJ2000 Blessed are they who do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.

God will fill the hungry and those that thirst after righteousness and spiritual things, with an overflow where there will be an abundance.

But to those that hunger after the natural. There will no fullness. It will be a false fullness.

Rom 8:6-8 tells us..
6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.

Rom 8:14 KJ2000 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

Let us hunger and  thirst after spiritual things. Which are found in the perfect Word of God, which is beneficial for all things. For the spiritual is stronger than the natural.

1 Tim 4:8 KJ2000 For bodily exercise profits for a little while: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.

God is sending a famine of hearing the Word of the Lord. Although this was spoken by the Prophet Amos years ago, it is prophetically interpretive today.

Where he will close the ears of them that choose not to hear the Word of the Lord.

And when they need it most. They will not find it. Like food in a famine… Or water in a drought. When you desire it.. You may not find it..

So, what must we do..

Isa 55:6-7 tells us..

6 Seek you the LORD while he may be found, call you upon him while he is near:
7 Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.

Receive the Lord Yeshua Christ.. As Lord and Savior today. Hear the Word of the Lord today and serve the Lord with gladness!

God bless, Pastor Quinn
