Phil 2:5 Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus.
Today, I want to share why it is important to have the “EL Mindset, which is the mind of Christ! Let me explain! I was in a mentor session with my mentor recently, and he encouraged me to have the attitude of the eagle and lion!
Although I knew about these two awesome creatures, the LORD began to show me how powerful they are! First of all if you were to identify with the attitude of any animal what would it be? I’m sure all of us would say something different.
In the Bible, these two animals are mentioned in scripture, and we must understand revelationally why they are spoken of more in the bible than any other animal. Lets take a look at scripture!
Psa 103:5 Who satisfies your mouth with good things, So that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
Isa 40:31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
Amo 3:8 A lion has roared! Who will not fear? The Lord GOD has spoken! Who can but prophesy?
Rev 5:5 And one of the elders said unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.
So the scripture speaks prophetically and powerfully about these two animals. The questions is why? Well, the lion is not the biggest, tallest or smartest animal but he is bold and the most feared! The eagle is one of the most powerful birds. He has vision, he soars, and you don’t find eagles in flocks!
Both of these animals are bold, confident and strong! Question? Do you have the eagle or lion attitude about who you are! I’m not talking about being arrogant, being prideful or haughty. I’m talking about knowing who you are in Christ!
As I was talking with my mentor, the LORD began to speak prophetically! The two animals that God identifies in the Bible with strength, confidence and boldness are the eagle and lion!
Isn’t it also amazing that the powerful names of God begin with “EL?”
The Hebrew Name of God is referred to as El or Elohim. The word El comes from a root word meaning “might, strength, power.
El Shaddai which means “God Almighty or Almighty God.”
El Elyon which means God “Most High or Most High God.”
EL Olam which means “God eternal, or everlasting God.”
Even the names of some of the saints have “EL” in them. Daniel, Michael, Gabriel, Elijah, and even Samuel! These are name that are associated with God and there are many others!
So the question is? Do you have the mind of Christ? Do you have the EL mentality? Now I see why these animals are spoken of in scripture quite often. The characteristics of these animals speak of might, strength, power, boldness and confidence. Is this not the characteristics of our great God Yehovah? (Yahweh)
Scripture mentions these two animals more than any other and they have powerful characteristics that we can surely learn from! Question? Do you have the “EL” mindset? Do you have the “EL mentality? Do you have the mind of Christ? Do you have vision? Do you want to soar? Are you confident? Are you bold? Are you strong? The scripture says:
Php 2:5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
Php 2:6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
Php 2:7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:
Php 2:8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
Php 2:9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:
Php 2:10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth.
Notice the God mindset that Christ had. It was of no reputation. In other words, not seeking to be all that! The mind of Christ is servitude, humility, obedience and it is sacrifice, or dying to yourself, so that God can raise you up to be all he called you to be.
Isn’t it amazing that we do the opposite in the Body of Christ? We want to be the Chief, we want to be the head, but the way up is down. Notice that after Christ did all these things, he was exalted!!!!!
Today, remember that you must have the “EL” Mindset which is like the eagle and the lion! We must also have the God mindset, the mind of Christ, and a Kingdom of God mentality. Having this mindset will take us higher and deeper in God than anything we could ever try to emulate or imagine!
